2005 Retro All Star Weekend

The Western All Stars won in an exciting All Star Game at Denver! Elton Brand of the Warriors led the way, en route to 1st ASG MVP award. This year's Rookies upended the Sophs in an equally exciting defensive tiff, 84-79.
West hosts East
The game was tight all the way, with neither team leading by as many as 8 points. The West and the East took turns with the lead at the end of the 1st and 2nd, respectively. The East held court and led the West by 6 points heading into the 4th.
It was actually the Mavericks' Jon Davis who led the West in scoring with 21 pts, but Elton Brand's all-around performance of 16 pts, 17 huge rebounds, 3 blocks, and a steal that keyed the team's solid performance all the way. Brand's offensive rebound, off a Jon Davis' free throw miss, and turnaround jumper at the right baseline gave the West a 3 point cushion, 105-102, with 2 mins left. That play anchored the West's comeback win in the 4th.

Chris Paul and Deron Williams shared the point guard duties for the rookies, ending 11 and 10 points, respectively.
